Friday 10th of September is the 13th Stage of the Tour of Spain. The parcours has two category three climbs and and a lot of uphill for the teams on the last grand tour of the pro cycling year. Yesterday's 12th stage from Andorra la Vella to Lleida was won by Mark Cavendish of HTC-Columbia in a bunch sprint finish of 84 riders. He took the stage by a second from Tyler Farrar of Garmin-Transitions and teammate Matthew Goss who led Cavendish through a technical finish in Lleida.

Rincón de Soto to Burgos is a 196 km stage described by the tour organisers as a "leg breaker". The profile of the stage shows constant climbing with short descents and two ranked category three passes near the finish; the 1,260 m Alto de Pradilla at 136 km and 1,20 0m Alto de Valmala soon after at 159.9 km. There are two intermediate sprints and a downhill finish which may provide the sprinters with an opportunity if they can maintain time on the demanding course.
