The Ottawa Internation Animation Festival announced the 2006 winners for the various competitions on the last night of the festival. Festival goers then watched a special screening of the best films in each category.

- Nelvana Grand Prize for Best Independent Short Animation: Dreams & Desires: Family Ties (Beryl Productions International Ltd, Wales, UK) dir: Joanna Quinn
